Billie Eilish Supports Mom at Glamour 2024 Women of the Year Awards in Bulky Black Skater Sneakers With Stud Embellishment
Billie Eilish paid honor to her mom on Tuesday night in New York City at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards. The magazine gave mothers of notable celebrities a cover and celebrated them this year.
Maggie Baird, the mother of Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, was one of the women featured. For the outting, Eilish went with her typical oversized silhouette including a pair of puffed up skater sneakers.
The musician’s shoes were from Etnies. The company markets itself as the “first skateboarder-owned and operated footwear and apparel company.” It was launched in 1986. Eilish’s styles were black with red-orange laces. along the side, the Etnies logo is in shades of blue. The blue logo sports white dots on it as well.
On the toe box, there is a stud embellishment on each shoe. Etnies branded in the red-orange script is both at the top of the shoe’s tongue as well as on the outsole.
Eilish is no stranger to Etnies. She’s worn styles from the brand multiple times before. It is unclear which style in particular the ones she wore to the Glamour event are. But they fall in her history of wearing puffy skater shoes. Other brands have included ES and Osiris.
Recently, she wore a pair of super rare sneakers. In her “Birds of a Feather” music video she opted for the 2005 Nike Dunk Low Premium in a “Hot Red/BlackVarsity Red” colorway. The shoes feature plaid panels and are a coveted iteration.
For her part, Eilish’s mom Maggie Baird appears to be wearing a pair of black leather boots with a seam running to the end of the pointed toe, causing the shoes to bunch and fold. O’Connell is wearing a pair. of deerskin low top sneakers from Zegna in off-white.
