Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner complemented and contrasted each other in tan-colored Schiaparelli and flowy all-black looks at the swanky Vogue World: Hollywood announcement event held at Chateau Marmont on Wednesday.

Jenner wore a layered, flowy black sleeveless shift dress and pants with simple black open-toed sandals and natural makeup with a bag from The Row. Meanwhile, Bieber wore head-to-toe Schiaparelli, and was styled by Andrew Mukamal, while her signature natural makeup applied by Nina Park. The model looked elegant in a fitted cream-colored halter gown with a corset-style bodice and a gold chain and lips at the neck, a subtle detail from the campy French couture house.

She completed the look with tan-colored measuring tape sandals, featuring gold brass lines along the toe and ankle straps, which nod to Elsa Schiaparelli’s emblematic use of the everyday item in high fashion. The designer shoes are made from lamb leather and feature a nearly four-inch (100mm) stiletto heel, a delicate hammered gold buckle at the ankle, and measuring tape etching at the inner heel.

The Schiaparelli measuring tape sandals also come in black leather, along with ultra-shiny gold and silver metallic leather options.

Measuring tape has been a playfully recurring motif in Schiaparelli collections for nearly a century after Elsa Schiaparelli adorned the “Shocking” perfume bottle with flowers and a sash nodding to her prized tool.

Current Creative Director Daniel Rosenberry has honored this tradition widely across his ready-to-wear collections, including a double-breasted jacket featuring gold threaded lines across one lapel, a measuring tape waist belt and a chic black blouse with long black and gold measuring tape ribbons emerging from the wide collar.

The current shoe collection, in addition to Beiber’s stilettos, also features measuring tape “s-heel” sandals; strappy sandals with real-look numbered measuring tap straps that wrap around the s-shaped heel.

The Rhode skincare founder epitomizes cool-girl chic on all occasions, often punctuated with small dark sunglasses, whether at an event or spotted strolling with her pop star husband or celebrity besties. She is a muse for the ubiquitous clean girl aesthetic, eternally boasting dewy skin, plump lips and shiny hair pulled back in a bun or cascading at her shoulders.

When it comes to footwear, she often matches her heels with her look for a monochrome look, including pumps and strappy sandal heels from Christian Louboutin, Saint Laurent and Jimmy Choo. On more casual occasions, Hailey can be found wearing trendy sneakers by Superga, Nike, New Balance and Off-White, or even Ugg boots.

Jenner and Bieber also mingled with Cara Delevingne and Adwoa Aboah at the Vogue World: Hollywood Press announcement. Taylour Paige, Taylor Russell, Natalia Bryant, Ruth E. Carter and California Governor Gavin Newsom attended the star-studded event. Still, Vogue long-running Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour was the belle of the ball, revealing that the next Vogue World celebration would celebrate costume designers and the creative ties between fashion and films, and fittingly take place in Hollywood in October. All the ticket proceeds will go to the Entertainment Community Fund, which is aimed at supporting costume community professionals who were impacted by the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
