Aug. 29, 2022: Neiman Marcus has launched its fall 2022 campaign. Titled “Live Your Luxury,” this 360-degree campaign includes advertising, in-store visuals, The Fall Book, events, digital content and videos. According to the company, this new campaign encourages its customers to “inhabit and move through life in a way that’s true to the individual, with assurance, boldness, eclecticism, radiance and purpose.” Shot on location in New York City and the surrounding tri-state area by a roster of top creatives, the imagery and videos highlight 418 designer brands across women’s, men’s, children, home and beauty. Plus, the retailer’s Fall Book is packed with interviews with Donatella Versace and Casablanca’s Charaf Tajer, and a Q&A with David Yurman’s Evan Yurman. This printed tome–a staple in Neiman Marcus’ storied history–also features Valentina Sampaio on the cover. Her turn marks the first time a transgender woman has appeared on the Book’s exterior. “This campaign signals a reimagined perspective of luxury, which, ultimately, means something different and often very personal to the individual,” Daz McColl, Neiman Marcus’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “It is not just about styles or trends–and the unspoken expectations that come with them. It’s about how you wear a piece or a look, when you wear it, why you wear it, and what it means to you.”

Aug. 25, 2022: “I’ve always been charmed by cinema. For its power to tell stories that can probe human adventure and its drift,” began Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele’s notes on the new “Exquisite” campaign, which draws inspiration from a series of iconic films by the late director Stanley Kubrick. Scenes from movies like “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “A Clockwork Orange,” “Eyes Wide Shut” and “The Shining” are revisited by Michele and reimagined by looks from his latest collection for the house. “I’ve always imagined my collections as films able to convey a cinematography of the present: a score of stories, eclectic and dissonant, that can sacralize the human and its metamorphic ability.” To bring this campaign to life, Gucci worked with the University of the Arts London, home of the Stanley Kubrick Archive, as well as Warner Bros. Consumer Products and the Stanley Kubrick Film Archives. Replicas of the original costume designs were curated by Milena Canonero and Charlotte Walter.
Aug. 25, 2022: Dior has released its winter 2022 men’s campaign. Shot by Rafael Pavarotti, this season’s campaign reveals a dreamlike setting, echoing the show’s set, which features the Alexandre-III Bridge – a symbol of the meeting between past, present and future. A tribute to the house’s legacy, this series of photographs “defies the flow of time so as to be more firmly anchored in the present than ever before,” the French luxury brand said in a statement. The winter 2022 men’s line explores Dior’s heritage, reinterpreting it through the prism of modernity. Men’s artistic director Kim Jones initiated a “conversation” with Christian Dior, which celebrates the spirit of Paris and the love of French fashion.
