Hoka is taking the recovery game seriously, from its slides and mules to its slip-on Restore TC sneaker. The latter shoe is now getting even more functional, as it gets remade with nature’s best technical fabric.

The Hoka Restore TC Aerino features a merino-blend wool upper, which is great for temperature regulation, moisture wicking, breathability and odor resistance. That last quality might be the most enticing for runners, who won’t need to think twice about putting them on after a run, no matter how smelly their feet.

56 merino yarn makes up the upper, with the rest mixed in with recycled nylon, spandex and hot melt.

Apart from the material switch on its upper, the Restore TC silhouette remains the same. Balance cushioning and neutral stability are offered by its foam midsole, which extends well up the heel for a handy pull tab.

For its debut, the Restore TC Aerino comes in tonal pink and a green and cream colorway.

Recovery is becoming a major battleground for footwear companies in 2025, and Nike has stepped up its efforts significantly with the well-received debut of its Rejuven8 Recover clogs and slides. The Swoosh has also taken a more active approach to recovery footwear by partnering with Hyperice on heated and compression massage Hyperboots that allow you to be mobile while they do their work.
